"If all fossil fuels and their derivatives, as well as trees for paper and buildings, was banned to save the planet, reverse the greenhouse effect and stop deforestation of the forests where there is only one known annually renewable natural resource that is capable of providing us with the majority of the world paper and textiles; meet the entire world's transportation, industriuella and home energy needs while reducing pollution, rebuilding the soil and cleaning the atmosphere all at once ... and the resource is the same as that made it förut...Cannabis / Hemp / Marijuana. "
-Jack Herer, The Emperor Wears No Clothes
Cannabis has many beneficial uses, more than any other plant on earth:
Agriculture
Farming is the growing of hemp an alternative to crop rotation which hemp can be grown in the same fields year after year without LEACH soil. There is even the case that hemp brings its own soil nutrients, making it ideal as a crop soil.
Hemp can manage without artificial fertilizers and pesticides and in Sweden it can grow up to 2-3 meters in height in one season. The fast-growing roots bind the soil and effectively prevents erosion.
Energy
Our consumption of fossil fuels accounts for 80% of all the emissions that are slowly but surely poisoning our seas, lakes and rivers, our land and our atmosphere. The cheapest alternative to these costly, cumbersome and polluting energy practices are not wind solar, geothermal or otherwise, without the use of sunlight to grow renewable biomass. In a global perspective is the most suitable plants for growing biomass at hemp, the only annually renewable raw materials that could replace all fossil fuels.
Not the whole plant grown as an energy feedstock is converted into fuel. Leaves, pieces of stems and the whole root is left on and in the ground and converted into natural fertilizer. This carbon rich organic matter contributes to soil fertility, and after each season is filled with soils of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, which may also contribute to lowering the seriously elevated levels of carbon dioxide caused by our industrial emissions.
Conversion of biomass through pyrolysis (high temperatures in or near aired aired furnaces) produces clean burning charcoal to replace fossil carbon.
Paper
Some varieties of cannabis plants can be as high as six meters or more in a season. Approximately 77% of hampstängelns weight consists of tow which first formed a residue when you extract the fibers, but which later became the raw material in paper industry.
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported 1916 (Bulletin No.. 404) to an area of 0.4 ha during the annual service for twenty years, could produce as much pulp for paper as equivalent 1.66 ha of forest over the same period. This process would require only between one quarter to one-sixth as much sulfur-based acids and other chemicals needed to break down the sticky lignin linking its fibers. Moreover, the use of soda ash, the use of chemicals should be avoided completely. Unlike the wood-based paper industry needed not bleach in the manufacture of hemp paper, which leads to the emission of dioxins in water can be significantly reduced.
Hemp contains 4-10% lignin, while trees contains 18-30% lignin. Thus hemp provides four times more mass with a concomitant reduction in emissions between 4-7 times.
Paper of hemp fiber is stronger and is better to fold than wood fiber paper. Cardboard Hemp lasts longer and has more uses than that of wood or plastic.
Plastic
In Germany, experimenting automaker Daimler-Benz a few years back to replace fiberglass in their cars with the plastic of hemp fiber. A spokesman for the company claims that "it softened the legislation previously prohibited the cultivation of hemp in Germany has aroused scientists' interest. Engineers prefer hemp because it is hardier and more resistant to parasites than flax, which is a reinforcement material." Hemp absorbs the small amount of resin than flax, which according automaker reduces emissions into the atmosphere.
In Austria, the firm Zellform since 1995, ranging from furniture, musical instruments, speaker cabinets, jewelry, toys, office and residential parts of components for the automotive, electrical and construction industries of the material Hempstone - which consists of 100% hemp fiber.
Food
Foremost is the high protein and fatty acid balance of hemp used. You can also press hampfröolja from the seeds and get a healthier cooking oil that may increase the meals to new dimensions. Hemp seed contains all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary for maintaining a healthy human life. No other plant provides complete protein in such an easily digestible form, or have the necessary essential oils in such a perfect variety of human health and vitality.
Hemp seed is the main plant in essential fatty acids. Hampfröolja is among the lowest in saturated fats at 8% of total oil volume. Oil pressed from hemp seeds contains 55% linlensyra (LA) and 25% linolenic acid (LNA). Only linseed oil has more linolenic acid by 58%, but hampfröolja has the highest percentage of essential fatty acids with 80% of total oil volume.
Extracts of the hemp seed can be as soybeans seasoned so that it tastes like chicken, beef or pork and can be used for producing tofu-like compositions and margarine to a longer charge than using soybeans. To which the seeds germinated at any time to improve its nutritional value and hemp can be sprouted and used as what other germs in such salads, hot dishes and sandwiches.
Textiles
Textiles made of hemp fiber is three times more durable than cotton. They are also softer, warmer, cooler and more water absorbent. Hampatyg can not be obtained in varying seriousness, ranging from silk-like quality to the coarsest sackcloth. Shoes, coats, jackets, pants, socks and underwear can be produced from non-toxic hemp. Fine linens, fine terry towels (more water absorbent than cotton terry cloth) and soft diapers and feminine hygiene products that do not require raw materials from forests are some other products.
Half of all chemicals produced in such U.S. pours growers out of their cotton fields in the form of pesticides and artificial fertilizers. Aral Sea in Central Asia is an inland sea that will disappear at a rapid pace and there will be a barren salt desert. This enormous ecological disaster due to the lead on water from rivers to irrigate vast cotton plantations. Cotton plantations are very demanding plants and suck out the earth in large quantities of food.
Hemp grows like weeds (3-6 m in one season), capable of most pests and require no artificial fertilizers or pesticides. The roots go deeper than most commercial crops and bind the soil preventing soil erosion. Hemp adds soil nutrients and can grow hemp, year after year on the same chip without switching crops
